Hachibei Urabe, the second generation of the noble Urabe family, started sake making. In 1888, he founded Eigashima Shuzo Co., Ltd. with a capital of 30,000 yen, marking our beginning. Our trademark was "Yamato Damashii," meaning "the soul of Japan," and we later registered "Yuri Masamune" in 1894 and "Kamitaka" in 1895. The mountain where we are located is called Hakushu, with a bright sun shining overhead.
